010th Meatbun ☼ Action / Voice

[This past week, anyone trying to go to the okonomiyaki restaurant would find it closed, courtesy of the Malnosso kidnapping the owner and cook. However, that has changed today, today the restaurant is wide open, with a menu sheet on the door for everyone to see, it's the same menu as always though a lot of dishes seem to have been stroke out.

Inside there's one little monkey that goes for the name of Goku, doing his best to imitate all the things Ukyo does when she opens the restaurant, like cleaning and tidying up. He'll be more than ready to take food orders and will welcome everyone with a wide smile and a loud 'WELCOME TO UCCHAN'S OKONOMIYAKI RESTAURANT!'. Anyone feels daring enough to try this kid's food? Don't worry it's not poisonous, he can cook, but don't expect anything too complicated.]

[Later, in the afternoon, the journals will be greeted with a curious kid.]

Ne... Is Ucchan back yet?

[Rhetoric question, kind of, if she's back she will answer if not... Well, he won't get an answer, obviously. After a while more will be added to the feed.]

Does anyone know where can I get a home tutor? They are like teachers, right? Teach you things on your own, I don't wanna go to school but I wanna learn more things. Ginia-neesan is always writing but I'm still no good at understanding what she writes, I want to get better! Also I want to learn to write better to write to her too, she has a pretty handwriting! Ange-neesan too. And, and I want to write a letter to my friends. But if I do it now I'm sure Konzen will get angry because it's messy. I want to learn more than that too, so they will be impressed when they come here! So... Where can I get one of those home tutors? Please?

Ah! Also, how do you know if your flowers are thirsty? My Cosmos flowers are still babies inside their seeds so I can't look at them to know if they are thirsty or not.... I don't think I could know just by looking at them anyway, but the dirt in the pot seems dry. But I don't want to drown them! When I'm not thirsty I know I can't drink even another drop of water!

Oh, Ucchan's okonomiyaki restaurant is open again. I can take care of it while Ucchan is gone, I can't cook much but I'll do my best to make you delicious okonomiyaki!!

Here in the village? I'm not sure there is very much. Everything we say or write is translated so other villagers can understand it.

[...] Sign language being a possible exception, of course.

Why are things wrote in a sign an exception?

[... Actually...]

What's an exception?

When a rule should apply to something, and doesn't, and when there's actually nothing wrong with the fact that it doesn't?

That's an exception.

I understand. Any rule can has an exception?

Not every rule does, but any rule can.

How do you know if a rule has one?

Sometimes you don't have to know. But generally, it's apparent. Or you'll just stumble across it.

What's like to be English? Is it different from others?

Sometimes I thought so. But here? No, not really. You just pick up an inordinate fondness for tea.

I like tea too! I love it with sweets. And you?

I prefer tea and sweets separately, but there's not much difference there.

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't put tea and sweets together, that would be messy. I drink tea and then eat sweets.

[Just making sure he was clear there, Giles' wording makes him think he didn't express himself well.]

What other things do you like J- I don't know how to write your name.

[In very large, clear letters, Giles spells out his name on the page.]

G I L E S

I like playing the guitar. Music in general, really.

[Written]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
[And in return he gets Goku's messy handwriting writing down his name several times for practice. Giles, Giles, Giles, Giles everywhere the kid can find.]

I like music too. There was some at a festival. A guitar makes music?

[Since he talked about music afterwards the kid's guess is that it's related.]

Yes, it does. It's a bit like a koto, only larger.

[Giles...attempts to draw a picture of a guitar underneath the words. Goku is free to draw his own erroneous conclusions from there.]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-28 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[Studying the picture for a bit...]

It does not look like a koto.

[At least he's not criticizing the art.]

Well, they are different instruments. Perhaps it is a poor analogy.

[And it's not that his art is horrible, nope.]

[Written]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Goku thinks the art is quite good! Then again he is not even two years old, so his taste is questionable.]

Do you play one here?

Yes, I do. I play at the club Ginia works at.

[Written]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ginia-neesan works in a club?

[The kid must have missed that, which isn't strange given who he is.]

Can I go listen you play?

We don't have to go anywhere if you don't want. I could just turn on the sound function and play from here.

[A couple of seconds pause and another word appears.]

Please.
