010th Meatbun ☼ Action / Voice

[This past week, anyone trying to go to the okonomiyaki restaurant would find it closed, courtesy of the Malnosso kidnapping the owner and cook. However, that has changed today, today the restaurant is wide open, with a menu sheet on the door for everyone to see, it's the same menu as always though a lot of dishes seem to have been stroke out.

Inside there's one little monkey that goes for the name of Goku, doing his best to imitate all the things Ukyo does when she opens the restaurant, like cleaning and tidying up. He'll be more than ready to take food orders and will welcome everyone with a wide smile and a loud 'WELCOME TO UCCHAN'S OKONOMIYAKI RESTAURANT!'. Anyone feels daring enough to try this kid's food? Don't worry it's not poisonous, he can cook, but don't expect anything too complicated.]

[Later, in the afternoon, the journals will be greeted with a curious kid.]

Ne... Is Ucchan back yet?

[Rhetoric question, kind of, if she's back she will answer if not... Well, he won't get an answer, obviously. After a while more will be added to the feed.]

Does anyone know where can I get a home tutor? They are like teachers, right? Teach you things on your own, I don't wanna go to school but I wanna learn more things. Ginia-neesan is always writing but I'm still no good at understanding what she writes, I want to get better! Also I want to learn to write better to write to her too, she has a pretty handwriting! Ange-neesan too. And, and I want to write a letter to my friends. But if I do it now I'm sure Konzen will get angry because it's messy. I want to learn more than that too, so they will be impressed when they come here! So... Where can I get one of those home tutors? Please?

Ah! Also, how do you know if your flowers are thirsty? My Cosmos flowers are still babies inside their seeds so I can't look at them to know if they are thirsty or not.... I don't think I could know just by looking at them anyway, but the dirt in the pot seems dry. But I don't want to drown them! When I'm not thirsty I know I can't drink even another drop of water!

Oh, Ucchan's okonomiyaki restaurant is open again. I can take care of it while Ucchan is gone, I can't cook much but I'll do my best to make you delicious okonomiyaki!!

WELCOME TO UCCHAN'S OKONOMIYAKI RESTAURANT!!!

[The culprit... A tiny kid peeking at you from the counter. It should be noted that the kid shoulders barely reach the counter and he's standing on a stool. Goku's small, okay? But not as small as he was when they first met.]

[Oh gosh she should have brought a present or something. Her presence is a present enough in itself!]

I did! I-It's nice to see you again Goku-kun.

[She can't help but smile back, happiness is contagious it seems. Taking a seat now.]

How are you today, feeling better? [He doesn't look as small. Or seem as blind. But it's always nice to ask!]

Yep! I'm all fine now! Ne, Nodoka-neesan wasn't a giant after all, it was me who was very small! But I'm normal again! ... Nodoka-neesan is still pretty tall though, and pretty too, you have blue hair, like a dark sky!

[It's really pretty, have wide golden eyes staring at you in awe and admiration.]

Good, I'm very happy to hear that! I was worried about you, so it's good to know everything is better again.

[Eh, pretty? And when was the last time someone complimented her hair? Dear me, ducking her head a little so her hair covers her eyes.]

Th-thank you!? B-But I still don't think I'm really all that tall! I-I'm glad you like my hair even if it's nothing special, eheh.

[Though this is coming from someone who was in a class of girls with enough shades of hair colours to compose a rainbow.]

It's special! I've never seen someone with hair like yours. Konzen has hair that shines like the sun but I've never seen someone with hair that looks like night sky!

[He could try to reach for it to touch it if he could do so but the position doesn't allow that so Nodoka's hair remains safe.]

Ucchan isn't here but I can cook you something!

I-If that's the case then thank you very much! It's quite flattering to know my hair reminds you of the night sky. I-I think that's the first time anyone has ever made that comparison too!

[Phew. Well Nodoka will touch her hair for him then, brushing her fringe away from her eyes.]

Ok then! I've been thinking hard about what sort of toppings I'd like. Could I have an okonomiyaki topped with welsh onion and shrimp, p-please? [Is that too complex?]

[Goku nods while making a humming noise, twisting his lips a bit as he thinks.]

But it's the first thing that comes to mind, it's so obvious! It's not a dark, dark night sky, though, those are really dark and lonely, not very pretty. But there are those nights when the moon shines a lot and there are tons and tons of stars! I love those, you can look up and see the sky full with shining dots! Your hair doesn't have shining dots but it's still as pretty as that sky!

[He nods again happily as she makes her order but pauses before he starts doing anything.]

Okay! Anything else?

Is it really? Ah... Haha. [There's a little red tint growing on her cheeks as he describes the night sky. Seriously, no one has ever made the association between her hair and the sky.] U-Uhm, I like those nights too. Stargazing can be a lot of fun on a clear night! Th-Though I think the stars, moon and sky are much prettier than my hair.

[Thinking for a moment, but then shaking her head.]

That'll be all, thank you! I can't wait to try out your cooking.

Hmmmm... They are prettier than your hair.

[Nodding and saying that quite blankly.]

But that's all they have! You also have a face and body and personality! And they aren't prettier than all that! I like those nights but if I had to choose between them and you I would choose you without doubt!

[Blinding smile. It's true after all, and as fun as it can be to stargaze, the night sky, moon and stars can't answer him or help him get somewhere. Nodoka can, so she's definitively tons better.]

Okay! An okonomiyaki with welsh onion and shrimp coming!

[Watch the little monkey start to work on it! He's not an artist at it as Ukyo is, and can't do the spectacular tricks she does, so Nodoka won't get a free show. Unless the little kid going back and forth and being all concentrated and serious in making the okonomiyaki counts as one for her.]

Of course they are. [Can't beat the beauty of the moon after all. She expects that to be the end of it, but then he continues on about her face, body and personality and she jumps a little.] A-Aah? Th-thank you, but I think you're being much too kind saying all those things...

[Who would like her personality anyway? And all that stuttering too. Dear me, she's not used to hearing such nice things about herself.]

[This definitely counts as a show! She can't help but smile as she watches him. It's not hard to notice all the concentration he's putting into this. Such determination!]

Too kind? But it's the truth, is it bad that I say it even if it's the truth?

[You make it sound as if it's not the truth after all, or as if it's bad to say it. He had thought that saying the truth was important and all.]

[He's determined to do his best after all. He really can't compete with Ukyo but he's confident he can do a tasty okonomiyaki, he has tasted his own attempts before after all! And though he would rather have one made by Ukyo he liked his attempts as well, though with how wide his range of liking is that may not say much in his favor.

Anyway, given that it's a simple order and there's no one else to order more and delay it all, Goku soon serves Nodoka her order after adding the usual sauces to it.]

[And cue anxious watching to see if it's good enough or if he has to run and call a doctor due food poisoning.]

N-No no, you should always speak the truth! It's just... I-I don't really agree with what you're saying. N-Never mind, it's just me being silly, don't worry about it!

[Can't have him thinking it's not important after all, even if it is a little embarrassing to in a way admit all those things he said were true. Quietly denying them, cough.]

Ah, thank you very much! [Bowing a little in her seat. It looks good! Time for the taste test.]] ... [Nope, no food poisoning going on here. Wiping her mouth, she smiles at him.] It tastes wonderful. Thank you again for your hard work, chef.

Well, I think so and it's the truth so there!

[You have no say in the matter, girl. He prefers you over the night sky and that's final, no amount of denying will make him change his mind.]

You like it? Awesome! Ucchan is toooons better though, when she's back you have to taste one of hers, she can also make more complex ones and watching her cook is really fun!

Ah! A-Alright, i-it's the truth then!

[Might as well just give in if she has no say. Sob.]

Mmhm, of course I do. I'm sure yours is just as good as her okonomiyaki though! And besides, watching you cook was plenty of fun for me Goku-kun.

[Goku's just going to smile happily and nod, glad to see she finally agrees.]

It was fun to watch? But I didn't do any tricks like Ucchan does.

B-But it was still very entertaining! Watching how determined you looked, coupled with the concentrated expression on your face, it was plenty entertaining!

[Nodding, eating a little more of her order. Ohm nom.]

I don't see anyone else here right now, so why not practice a few tricks? I bet Ucchan would be happy to come back and see you can do your own tricks.

Oh, I'm glad then!

[The kid thinks about the next part. He could practice a few tricks and all but what if they don't work well? It would make a mess and then he would have to clean everything or Ukyo would get mad. Maybe he could practice with things that aren't actual food to not cause so much of a mess?]

But I don't have anything to practice with. And I don't want to use food for it, you don't waste yummy food or play with it like that.

[Indeed at the end of it it's mostly because of the food than anything else.]

Nothing at all? I-I'm honestly not familiar with what sort of tricks the chef performs at an okonomiyaki shop, so you'll have to fill me in on what sort of things they can do.

[Thinking. Hm. Do they just throw the sauce bottles around or something? She can see that happening.]

Ah-- I would order something else so you could practice on that, but if you don't want to waste food... B-But would it be a waste if I ate it no matter what? Eheh... [If she had an idea of what sorts of things are done then maybe she could go find a substitute for the real thing that would be less messy.]

Uhm... Ucchan can throw the okonomiyaki really high and catch it with the spatule, or the dish and serve it. Uhm... She also can make the sauce bottles seem as if they fly or something. And she can make several okonomiyaki at once! Really, really fast.

[Thinking hard! He has seen it so many times, but never cared to count the tricks and all, he assumed he would learn them one day as he learned more about cooking.]

If you eat it it wouldn't be. Do you want another order? I'll make as many as you want if you are still hungry, I know sometimes it takes a while to get filled and be half-hungry is as bad as being hungry!

I don't see any way for you to be able to improve your speed other than through practice... But! I do have an idea for how you can practice tricks using the sauce bottles and spatula. I-In a way.

[Ah, so she was thinking on the right lines after all. Everything she needs for this idea should be at the item shop.]

I'll have another then, please. N-Not too big though, ok? I'm not much of an eater, but it'll be nice for you to have the practice. [Any practice is good practice after all.]
