010th Meatbun ☼ Action / Voice

[This past week, anyone trying to go to the okonomiyaki restaurant would find it closed, courtesy of the Malnosso kidnapping the owner and cook. However, that has changed today, today the restaurant is wide open, with a menu sheet on the door for everyone to see, it's the same menu as always though a lot of dishes seem to have been stroke out.

Inside there's one little monkey that goes for the name of Goku, doing his best to imitate all the things Ukyo does when she opens the restaurant, like cleaning and tidying up. He'll be more than ready to take food orders and will welcome everyone with a wide smile and a loud 'WELCOME TO UCCHAN'S OKONOMIYAKI RESTAURANT!'. Anyone feels daring enough to try this kid's food? Don't worry it's not poisonous, he can cook, but don't expect anything too complicated.]

[Later, in the afternoon, the journals will be greeted with a curious kid.]

Ne... Is Ucchan back yet?

[Rhetoric question, kind of, if she's back she will answer if not... Well, he won't get an answer, obviously. After a while more will be added to the feed.]

Does anyone know where can I get a home tutor? They are like teachers, right? Teach you things on your own, I don't wanna go to school but I wanna learn more things. Ginia-neesan is always writing but I'm still no good at understanding what she writes, I want to get better! Also I want to learn to write better to write to her too, she has a pretty handwriting! Ange-neesan too. And, and I want to write a letter to my friends. But if I do it now I'm sure Konzen will get angry because it's messy. I want to learn more than that too, so they will be impressed when they come here! So... Where can I get one of those home tutors? Please?

Ah! Also, how do you know if your flowers are thirsty? My Cosmos flowers are still babies inside their seeds so I can't look at them to know if they are thirsty or not.... I don't think I could know just by looking at them anyway, but the dirt in the pot seems dry. But I don't want to drown them! When I'm not thirsty I know I can't drink even another drop of water!

Oh, Ucchan's okonomiyaki restaurant is open again. I can take care of it while Ucchan is gone, I can't cook much but I'll do my best to make you delicious okonomiyaki!!

[At most the place will be open in the morning until lunch and close for the afternoon, or the other way around. He will definitively have it open for lunch or dinner, he's not stupid enough to not realize that's when it's the most important time to have the place open.]

Oooh, I see... I dunno if that's more complicated than normal writing or not.

[Sure he can make a drawing when he wants to say something and forgot how it's written, but that mostly only works with objects, animals and people.]
repudiate: (and you hide)

In the end it's a little like normal writing, I guess, the only difference is that whereas we would use a letter, they would use a picture. It's only useful if writing letters is hard for you.

Then again, I'm fairly sure nobody knows how to read hieroglyphs here. Unless they're kidnapping ancient Egyptians too now.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, I haven't seen many old people around. I think the oldest I've seen is Giles but he doesn't look old enough to be ancient.

[Obviously ancient Egyptians means really old people from Egypt, wherever that is.]
repudiate: (down through my ribs)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-16 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ jkgkhhkg the idea of Giles being ancient.. ]

Hey, when I say 'ancient' I don't mean really old people, you know. [ It's almost enough to amuse her a little. Almost. ] I mean people from a really, really long time ago.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-17 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaaaah.... When was that?

[Don't mind that he doesn't even know when now is.]
repudiate: (never quite awakes)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-19 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
When, you say..

[ What is this, history class? Either way, Ange can indulge this a little, sure. ]

At least for me back home, it's been about two thousand years since then. That's a pretty long time, right?

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It is, just a year felt really long for me! Are there really people that old in your world? I don't think even gods would be that old.

[They would be older, Goku.]
repudiate: (there as fast as i can)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-23 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
No, they're not that old.. They died a long time ago. They lived just as long as you and I will, you know? [ don't assume things, Ange.. ]

And if it's about gods, they would be older, right? If you go by the theory that they created humans, they have to be older than the older humans.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, then how do you know about them? Oh, are there books with drawings that belonged to them then?

Gods created humans? I don't know about that, no one there seemed to be able to do that... The things I saw they had created weren't humans at all.

[The last thing is said in a muttered tone, dark, angry and sad. The kid shakes his head and cheers up again.]

If gods created humans, who created gods?
repudiate: (i think by now it's time)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-24 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[ So many questions, Goku.. But it's okay, she doesn't really mind answering them. Talking is a way to keep herself occupied, after all. ]

Sort of like that. And they dug up old things that belonged to them as well, and from that people can try to think about how they lived.

Some people believe that gods made humans, but not everyone. I personally don't really care about that sort of belief, but there are plenty of people who do out there.. [ The tone is a bit concerning, but.. maybe she shouldn't pry for now. Maybe if it sometime comes up again, but.. ] And I don't know. It would be pretty complicated, because if you answer that you have to ask who created whatever created gods, right?

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Questions are a normal thing when you're barely one year old.]

I see! ... Wait, then even if I hide something by burying it somewhere someone will come years later and dig it up to think about how I lived? I don't think I like that.

Why do people believe those things?

[He ponders for a second. She's right, if he wonders who created the gods, he can wonder who created those who created the gods... And so on until he loses count.]

Maybe they just came from a stone? They were simply born like that, poof!
repudiate: (there is work to be done)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-27 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
They might. But it won't be in a long time.. Say, you'll have to wait a thousand years or so for someone to dig it up again. And then it has to be something that will last in the ground for all that time too, so I don't think you have to worry about anything.

And maybe your theory is true, who knows. It's not like anyone else can make up a better theory. [ devil's proof? ]

As to belief, that part is a little more complicated, mostly since people have lots of different reasons to believe. Some do it out of habit or tradition, and I guess others maybe just like to have something like that to hold on to.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-27 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... A thousand years is a very long time, I'll probably have forgotten about it by then, I suppose then it would be okay... I still don't like the idea of people digging up my things, what if I hide a huge big secret no one should ever know?

... Why is it a theory?

[He listens to the explanation regarding belief in silence but... Honestly it doesn't make sense to him.]

I don't really understand it. I believe many things but nothing like that, am I doing it wrong?
repudiate: (and the sky will open)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-27 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's a big secret, then you probably shouldn't bury it. People could find it either way, no matter whether it's in a thousand years or a few days.. You should hide it better than that.

Well, it's a theory since nobody can say whether it's actually true or not that they came from rocks, right? So as long as it's still speculation, it's a theory.

[ She imagined as much, but.. hey, it was worth a try. ]

... No, it's okay. You're doing just fine, so don't think about it too much.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-28 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
What better way there is other than to bury it?

[He has nothing to hide yet but who knows. The next part...]

I came from a rock. I think. Ah, but I'm not a God, so it doesn't count?
repudiate: (crawling away from the sun again)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-29 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
If you really don't want it to be found, you could tell someone you trust to destroy it if you'd die or something like that. That's pretty much a sure-fire way.

[ wait, did he really say he.. came from a rock.. ]

You came from a rock? How do you mean that?

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-29 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... I guess if I die it won't have any meaning to keep it, right? But I don't want to die anytime soon.

[Or think about it. The kid nods.]

I remember it clearly! The largest moon ever, hanging in a dark blue sky with no clouds or stars, the broken rock, in two halves each on my side as I sat there. It was only me and the rock there, up in the mount, there wasn't much space for anything else actually.
repudiate: (to get into jerusalem)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-29 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you can hang on to it for a while more, right?

[ Yes, let's not dwell on the subject of death for too long around a kid, sounds like a plan to Ange. ]

... I don't think that anyone could be born from a rock, no matter what kind of world you come from. All humans are born from other humans.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-29 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
... Ange-neesan. Why do so many people here call me human?

[At least the way you worded it sounds as if you're calling him that, and that other woman did so too.]
repudiate: (my way back to jerusalem)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-31 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... For a moment she pauses, almost a little surprised, but then continues. ]

So you're not? [ oh, right, assume makes an ass out of u and me and all that.. ] Well, I guess a human would assume that other people they're talking to are human as well, especially when said people look a lot like humans do. Besides, most people aren't even used to anything other than humans and animals existing.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Uhm... I don't know? Back in Heavens everyone called me heretic or a youkai... Or Goku but that's my name so that doesn't count.

[He laughs a bit.]

I don't really understand, there were a lot of deities in Heavens, but all of them looked like the people here. And I was called youkai or so, but I look like the people here. It's difficult to know of someone is something or the other just by looks, there are tons of things one could be that I can think of.

[Assuming others are like you, Goku doesn't get it.]
repudiate: (because of the way)

[ voice ] 1 / 2

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-31 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Youkai.. [ She frowns a little to herself when she repeats the word, but.. well, if he really was a youkai, would that really be that weird in a place like this which pulls in people from everywhere? Besides, Goku had mostly seemed human to her so far either way, so it wasn't that big of a deal, was it? ]
repudiate: (down through my ribs)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-10-31 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
... Yeah, it's pretty difficult, isn't it? But all the same.. What's most important isn't what people call you, but what you call yourself or think of yourself, right?

[ voice ]

[identity profile] justonename.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I call myself Goku and think of myself as Goku.

[Obviously!]

There's another Goku here but he's older so it's not really the same. Isn't it easier that way? We all already have names that say who we are, why do we need more words for it? We can just use our names... And 'people'! People is a good word for talking about lots of... Uh, people.

[Okay that didn't sound too well even for him.]
repudiate: (we can see down again; here we go)

[ voice ]

[personal profile] repudiate 2011-11-01 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There's something just.. adorable about his logic, really. Kid logic. And it's true too, in a way, so she can't bring herself to disagree. ]

Yeah. Some people just feel the need to differentiate, but we can just say you're Goku and be done with it, right? No need to decide which other term to use.
