Santa can do a lot. Is there anything else you want to know about him?

You write him a letter telling him what you want. I can help you write one, if you want.

All right! When do we do that?

We could start now if you wanted to. I have extra paper.

[Alert for scrambling monkey. Goku's going to pick up his writing pen and then return with Ginia.]

I'm ready! How do you write a letter?

[While he gets his pen, Ginia takes some paper out for him to write on.]

To begin, you have to address the letter to someone. In this case, you write "Dear Santa."

[He nods and writes as told, his handwriting is still messy and childish but it's a bit better than when he arrived almost a year ago. Only a bit though.]

Is it okay if I just write Santa then? Won't he be angry because his name is Santa Claus?

Santa Claus is his full name, but it's okay to write either one. He doesn't mind.

Ah, so it's like Son Goku? Wouldn't it be best to call him Claus then?

[Goku, always distracted by anything ever. It's just a name, kid.]

[But this also means he's thinking, and Ginia never minds answering his questions.]

You bring up an interesting point. It's usually more polite to call someone by their last name, as calling someone by their first name is more informal or usually between friends, but Santa Claus doesn't mind being called Santa because he's friendly to everyone else.

But names are also written differently depending on where you come from. In some cultures, the family name is written first followed by your personal or given name. In other cultures, your given name is written first, followed by your fanuky name. In my world, Eastern cultures use the first form ([Family name] [Given name)) while Western cultures use the second form ([Given name] [Family name]). Neither is right or wrong, it's all based on where you come from.

For example, as I was born in a Western culture, my name is written Ginia Solana. If I were born in an Eastern culture, my name would be Solana Ginia.

[Wait, wait, what. Goku actually tries to take her notebook to read through her answer more carefully, this is complicated stuff after all. A bit messy even. He frowns as he reads it carefully, humming as he starts to get it.]

Then Santa is his first name? And in wrestern culture I would be Goku Son?

[At least he's assuming his first name is Goku. Why would Konzen and the others call him by his last name? ... Assuming that's his last name even. He doesn't seem very sure about that.]

Yes, that's right on both counts.

Though some people like going by their last name. Giles? His first name is Rupert, but everyone calls him Giles because that's what he prefers.

I don't like the name Rupert for him either.

[Or maybe he's just too used to think of him as Giles. The kid shrugs and goes back to the letter before he stops and looks at Ginia and her notebook again.]

Ah... We have the same first letters for our name and last name! See? G and S!

[Starry eyes, apparently this is a great discovery for him.]

[Ginia smiles a little to herself. Rupert has become quite endearing to her. It suits him in its own way.

At his observation, she grins, also seeing it for the first time.]

You're right, we do.

I like having the same letters than Ginia-neesan. If we write letters to each other and just sign with the first letters no one but us would be able to know who said what! Like a secret code!

[A very simple one, mind you. Anyway, his attention spans back to the letter.]

So... Dear Santa... Should I tell him who I am?

It'll be our little secret.

[A nod.]

Introducing yourself is nice way to begin.

[The kid nods and starts to write, reading what he writes as he does so.]

My name... Is Goku Son. [Glance at Ginia.] Since Santa writes his name that way it will be easier for him if I do the same, right?

[Anyway he continues.]

I am one year old... And I like in Luceti. I like...

[And he starts to list all the things he likes and does in the village. Santa's in for a long letter unless Ginia stops the kid.]

You can write it either way. Don't worry, Santa will understand. Magic.

[Ginia watches as he writes, making small corrections in spelling here and there, but otherwise letting him write as he wishes. It's good writing practice, right?]
